The Membership Working Group is probably how you found us! The group manages everything from our social media to member onboarding. It is a great place to get plugged in and meet other comrades. Whether you are a new or old member, there is a task for you with this working group!

Palestine Solidarity

The Palestinian Solidarity Working Group facilitates anti-imperialist, anti-Zionist, and anti-racist chapter work that includes supporting current coalition work around Palestine Liberation and upholding the principles implemented in the Anti-Zionist Resolution.

The group supports the Truth and Justice for Palestine Coalition which seeks to add Palestinian and diverse voices to WAMC’s The Roundtable program, the Break the Bonds Coalition which seeks to force the NYS Comptroller to divest NYS pensions from Israel Bonds, and coordinates with local grassroots Palestinian and anti-Zionist organizations, as well as with the DSA International Committee, to integrate the demands of the Palestinian movement with Capital District DSA’s praxis and DSA’s platform.

Healthcare

Our Healthcare Working Group is a part of the Campaign for New York Health, a statewide coalition dedicated to passing and implementing the New York Health Act (S3425/A1466).

The New York Health Act (NYHA) is the only bill currently in the New York state legislature that would guarantee comprehensive, high quality healthcare for every New Yorker — no exceptions.

Once implemented the NYHA would ensure that every New Yorker receives primary care, specialty care, vision, dental, hearing, mental health, reproductive care, substance abuse, maternal care, prescription drugs and long term care.

Under the NYHA there would be no more expensive health insurance premiums, co-pays, deductibles, or prescription costs. And no more worrying if your doctor or hospital is in your insurance provider’s network. You see the doctors you want, when you want, without cost as a barrier to care.
