Are you interested in taking on a leadership role in your DSA chapter? Are you already in a position of leadership but looking to up your game? DSA’s Leadership Intensive is here to help!
This two-day training is meant for chapter leaders (or prospective chapter leaders) of all experience levels to come together, learn from one another, and return to organizing with a greater understanding of what it takes to build DSA into a mass organization of working people across diverse backgrounds. We will cover everything from how to cohere your chapter around shared projects to the basic, day-to-day work of chapter officers.
The next Leadership Intensive is Sept 12th and 13th from 10am PT / 1 pm ET to 3pm PT / 6 pm ET. This is a great opportunity to hone your organizing skills and accelerate your chapter’s momentum!

Come celebrate the expansion of tenant power that Tenant Unions across Albany have built! Meet with tenants of the unions and see how you could get a tenant union started in your building. The Tenant Unions have some big wins on their hands, and have gotten better living conditions for their tenants. This is the time to celebrate those accomplishments!
Hamburgers, hotdogs, sides, as well as vegetarian/vegan options will be available!

Nonviolent Medicaid Army National Day of Action for Medicaid

Every year since 2020, the Nonviolent Medicaid Army (NVMA) has hosted a national Day or Week of Action in September. This year, the NVMA is organizing a coordinated National Day of Action for Medicaid on Saturday, September 19, 2026.
In an effort to build greater unity across our state, the Capital Region Unite the Poor Network will be traveling to NYC to participate in a joint action.
We expect to depart Albany around 8am, and return around 8pm. The day will consist of travel, a public action, meals, and time to meet and connect with other Nonviolent Medicaid Army leaders in New York City.
Give what you can, take what you need! Albany Free store is a mutual aid event that provides used clothing, hygiene products, and household goods to anybody who needs them, all for free!
